Pink rice

Thai, or rather Thailand, means free. This word, written in Thai characters dominates the canvas, created through rice grains cooked in fuchsia acrylic, the country’s official colour. The painting has been amongst the finalists of the first edition of IMAFestival on migration and food. Freedom is a journey, an exploration, a discovery. The name of a country becomes the personification of this message through an essential element, rice. This source of nourishment, universal to all populations, thusly becomes the propulsor of a travel wherein the country of origin is not denied, but actually becomes a faithful companion of exciting expeditions beyond home boundaries.
